Dustin Batson creates incredible hospitality experiences. It’s no surprise that he’s a New Orleans native, with his knack for creating spaces that draw people together, in the name of having a good time. Dustin has created some of the most lush, warm and elegant hospitality experiences in the Bryan/College Station area. He is always thinking of new opportunities to entertain.
His infant enterprise, the West End Elixir served up luscious cocktails in a relaxed but sophisticated space in College Station’s Northgate development. He then expanded his entertainment reach into downtown Bryan with The Downtown Elixir and soon after his basement bar 5 Knocks, a quaint and lively speak easy venue. It didn’t take long before his next adventure took flight, resurrecting an old downtown Bryan favorite the 3rd Floor Cantina. Keeping the old name but offering a new direction of a Gatsby themed decor, the art of live burlesque and live jazz.
Over the past few years, Dustin developed a love and appreciation for a good cigar. This love turned into a passion and a desire to give other connoisseurs an elegant environment to gather, light a stogie and get lost in great conversation. Hence, The Velvet Leaf.
